Pre-Workout Supp

Yep, the omega-3s are doing good!! Now I just need something to help with fatigue, hate being on so much caffeine, and don't wanna get on any other stims.

Now onto pre-workout supps...

All the previous times that I had worked out, I had only taken whey protein. This time though it was different. I was determined to make a real difference and invest some more into it (ie. money). So I went to a friend who had been doing this for longer than I have and had been doing it consistently, he recommended that I get a pre-workout and BCAAs. Superpump 250 and xtend were the two products purchased, SP250 was 49.99 + tax and xtend 29.99 + tax, so in total $90.38. I thought this stuff was "the shit"!! I was already started again for maybe like a week or two when I took the superpump, I seen like 1 rep gains on a few sets and when I looked in the mirror I was friggin' swol, PUMP!! But you see this stuff is like $1+ a serving, you start off with one and soon you get used to it and it becomes 2 servings. Before you know it, you've finished the bottle. I was hooked. The issue I have though, was it the pre-workout that helped me gain the 1 rep or was I was already building my strength up and the pre-workout just gave me the extra movitation to try and push for the extra rep?

That's my story on the pres. Now onto should you get one or no. The problem with them is with the proprietary blends they have for the product. There's just so much shit in there and most likely not enough for an effective dose, one thing they always have in there though is creatine & caffeine and i'm sure it's enough cuz that shit actually works. So no, u shouldn't get one. On the other hand there's the mental aspect of it (which helped me in the beginning). You pop a pre, when it hits you, you are wired up and ready to work-out. Work-out look in the mirror, you see the pump and looks like u getting big. It acts as your motivation to get in the gym and bang out the work outs. So in that way, it helps. Also if you dead tired, u take one of these you be stimmed the heck out, u'll be ready to work-out in no time. If you got the dough and need some motivation to get your ass into the gym, get one.

Personally, I say no, my pre-workout right now consist of 200mg caffeine + 500mg green tea extract (cost 14 cents) and that gives me enough boost go thru my routine (i'll add an extra 100mg of caffeine if I'm really not feeling it). In the end, it just comes down to the power of your mind and how you get motivated.
